Tabla Ambush Site
On a cliff along the mountain road now stands the historical marker in honor of the nine law enforcers who died after they were ambushed by rebels.
Members of the 348th Philippine Constabulary Company and the local police were on their way down the mountains from checking reports of the presence armed men in July 17, 1987. ( Source from http://liloan.gov.ph )

Black Shama

Tingkarol : White Collared Kingfisher
Facts:
The White Collared Kingfisher is around 8-9 inches long from beak to tail. Though generally described as to be blue, it has a beautiful gradient color from green to blue. It perches on high branches gracefully gliding from tree to tree. It feeds on insects, lizards, and yes, fish.
This bird is called as the Kingfisher because it is best when it comes to fishing. The body and beak are well designed for aerodynamic air diving and the feathers are coated with a special oil to have an impermeable effect against water when taking flight after a quick dive for a fish.
Synonyms: Todirhamphus chloris, Collared Kingfisher

War Time Man-made Cave
World War II may have left scars on people’s lives and damaged vital infrastructures, but it has also left behind some man-made wonders in Liloan, such as limestone caves that were used for hiding during the war.  ( Source from http://liloan.gov.ph )

Suba Bridge

Suba Bridge : The mouth of the bay is where the whirling waters are--- the lilo that gave the town its name. The bridge over it used to be made of wood but it was changed to concrete a couple of years ago. (Source from http://liloan.gov.ph )

Silot Bay
The bay is a 100-hectare shallow tidal lagoon, with mangrove swamps, fishponds and two islets.
Looking at it from the top of Cebu City’s mountains, one could see it from the distance as a body of water roughly circular in shape.
Its waters flow from Camotes Sea, of which it is connected through a channel that is about 20 meters wide. Marine organisms like sea urchins thrive on the bay, and a huge area of mudflat where locals gather seashells could be seen during low tides. ( Source from http://liloan.gov.ph )

Standing proudly over a cliff in Barangay Catarman, the coral stone lighthouse has withstood the passing of 10 decades and the various seasons that came with the years, including the war.

American Light House
One hundred and four years ago, the Americans built the Bagacay Point Lighthouse that has not only become a landmark for the Municipality of Liloan, but a National Heritage Structure of the Philippines as well.

Historical Marker
Through time the use of the lighthouse, locally known as “parola,” has also evolved yet its importance could never be overemphasized. ( Source from http://liloan.gov.ph )

Bagacay Point Lighthouse
Standing on a cliff overlooking the Mactan channel is a watchtower or Bantayan sa Hari built during the Spanish era.

Old Bantayan sa Hari
The Liloan watchtower may be a part of the string of watchtowers built on Cebu’s northeastern coasts in the 19th century, when Moro raiders concentrated their attacks on Cebu’s north. The Moro raiders turned their attention to the north after the southern Cebu towns’ effective defense of their territories. The raiders not only divested local residents of goods, people were also snatched for slavery.

Old Bantayan sa Hari
Historical records show that sometime in 1825, Mandaue residents sighted Moro pirates on the coasts of Liloan. In the early part of the 17th century, Moros pillaged Liloan, sending residents fleeing for safety to Danao. ( Source from http://liloan.gov.ph )

Another prominent feature of Liloan is the Bridge where the famous whirlpool can be perceived beneath it. It connects two barangays: Poblacion and Catarman. It will always be mystical, idyllic for peace seekers, a perfect place reflecting, watching the moon rise or the sun sets. ( Source from http://explorecebu.com )
